It is an elegant eighteenth century town rich in monuments and buildings which acquires more beauty if you live them with evening lights.
You can visit: Via Mornino Penna, an outstandingly beautiful area which in 2002 has been recognised World Heritage by UNESCO. Here, you will find well known Palaces and Churches such as: the Palazzo Spadaro (a beautiful late Baroque Palace now headquarters of the Department of Cultural Heritage); the Palazzo Comunale (made famous by the Montalbano TV series); the Church of St. Giovanni Evangelistica and the Church of Santa Teresa (full of precious decor.)
You can visit: Via Mormino Penna, the most beautiful street in Scicli (recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, in June 2002), where you can find: Palazzo Spadaro – a beautiful late Baroque palace, home to the Office for Cultural Heritage; the Town Hall – who became famous thanks to the fiction “Il Commisario Montalbano”; Palazzo Beneventano – one of the most significant and most original baroque monuments of the ‘700.
This street is the soul of Scicli which will leave you with pleasant memories of the Baroque town planning.
